If you have never been there, you can be sure that it is worth going out of your way. Indeed, the Champagne area has magnificent vineyards and breathtaking landscapes. It is also steeped in history. Among the places not to be missed, we will take you to the cathedral of Reims, which was the place of coronation for many kings of France. You will also have the opportunity to enter the Palais du Tau – right next to the cathedral – which houses real treasures dating back to the Middle Ages.
Lined with magnificent champagne houses, the famous Avenue de Champagne is simply one of a kind. Needless to say, it is well worth a visit.
Among the places not to be missed in the area, we can also mention Hautvillers, considered as the cradle of champagne. It is the village of Dom Pérignon, who is none other than the inventor of champagne.
Sparkling Tour can take you to visit all these great places in the area as well as to a great champagne house for your tasting. If you wish, it is even possible to plan a visit to various great houses with several tastings.
Should you feel like it, we could also take you to meet an independent winemaker. More precisely, you could visit the small producer of your liking and then taste several vintages at the end of the tour.
Sparkling Tour can design the tour of your dreams by taking your wishes and preferences into account.

Sparkling Tour: our semi-private tours
Instead of a champagne tasting in Paris, we can also offer a semi-private tour in the Champagne area. We will pick you up from the train station or your hotel in Reims onboard a minivan for a private half- or full-day discovery tour.
In this case, you will have to come to Reims by your own means, either by bus or by train. If this idea appeals to you more than a champagne tasting in Paris, please note that we offer three packages: the morning discovery tour, the afternoon discovery tour and, finally, the full-day discovery tour. Want to know more about each alternative, read what follows!
Morning discovery tour
Instead of a champagne tasting in Paris, we suggest you embark on a morning discovery tour in the Champagne area. This semi-private option is available from Monday to Saturday, starting at 9am and ending at 1pm.
For this morning discovery tour, we plan a desirable program of activities for you. First, we will take you to an independent “Premier Cru” winemaker. You will be able to visit their cellar and learn more about the champagne-making process. What’s more, you will be treated to not one but three champagne tastings.
Then, we will drive to Hautvillers, Dom Pérignon’s village, to visit the church and the tomb of the famous Benedictine monk. After that, we will drive through the vineyard: a wonderful occasion to admire beautiful landscapes.
Afterwards, you will have the privilege to meet a second small “Premier or Grand Cru” producer and visit their cellar. Three more tastings will be offered to you before we drive you back to Reims and get there around 1pm.
Afternoon discovery tour
Instead of your champagne tasting in Paris, you can also plan a discovery afternoon with Sparkling Tour. This semi-private tour lasts from 2pm to 6pm. Just like the morning discovery tour, it is available from Monday to Saturday.
Both half-day packages offer the same program that is to say the visit of two independent winegrowers, a trip to Hautvillers and a drive across the vineyard. At the end of the afternoon, you will have enjoyed up to 6 tastings and discovered all the secrets of this famous sparkling wine making.
Full discovery day
A final option instead of your champagne tasting in Paris: opting for a full discovery day with Sparkling Tour. Also as a small group, we offer an exceptional program lasting from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
It will start with the discovery of a small “Premier Cru” producer, including the visit of their cellar, explanations on the champagne-making process and three tastings. Then, we will continue with a stop in Hautvillers to visit its church and Dom Pérignon’s tomb before moving on to a drive through the vineyard and eating lunch in a delicious bistronomic restaurant in Epernay. In the afternoon, you will visit two producers, one “Premier or Grand Cru” and another “Grand Cru”. Each of them will treat you to three tastings. Finally, we will take you back and reach Reims around 6 pm.
